Total Gas & Power’s Guaranteed Savings Programme (GSP) challenges a common assumption in organisations that significant investment is required to achieve meaningful reductions in energy consumption and carbon emissions.

Delivered by Nifes Consulting Group, industry leaders in energy management and technical solutions, the GSP provides a highly effective way for your organisation to identify and capitalise on energy and carbon saving opportunities.

The service is underwritten with a minimum energy saving guarantee to protect your investment and the programme can be paid for via a share of savings arrangement, meaning that energy savings really can be achieved with no up-front cost.

In practice, GSP engagements frequently deliver savings ranging from 5% to over 15% of an organisation’s annual energy consumption, with corresponding savings in carbon emissions. The GSP will also identify potential energy savings of up to 25% in many organisations.

Our Approach

We are confident that our GSP can achieve significant and quantifiable energy savings.

The GSP delivery team will meet with key stakeholders from your organisation to agree a project plan and priority areas aligned to your strategic objectives and operational requirements.

An appointed energy analytics specialist will work with you to collect and verify energy usage data from the past 12 months and confirm the energy saving guarantee and/or share of savings arrangement.

An energy model will be developed to account for the significant factors that impact energy usage within your organisation. The model will be used to set intelligent targets, identify exceptions and measure the performance of the GSP.

We will conduct site surveys to identify no cost/low cost energy saving opportunities for rapid implementation. This “save as you survey” approach allows cost savings and other benefits to be realised early in engagement, freeing up funds for more substantial initiatives. The scope of services to be examined includes:

We will support you in the implementation of no/low cost measures.

Further studies will be carried out to evaluate the maximum saving potential for your organisation, including the identification of initiatives with a medium to high capital requirement. These opportunities will be presented to you in an Energy Investment Action Plan.

The performance of the implemented measures will be evaluated throughout the GSP via our robust monitoring and targeting systems. GSP performance reports will also be issued at regular stakeholder meetings.

At the end of the GSP a final achievement report will be issued detailing the overall performance of the programme.
